My wife, her sister, and I spent 5 nights at the Puerta del Sol apartment the last week of April 2012. Overall, the apartment was very good and met our needs. I called the manager when we arrived at the Antocha train station and he met us at the apartment. He did a good job explaining the features of the apartment, going over the lease, giving us some directions, etc. He was very friendly and helpful. The apartment is located on a busy pedestrian street very close to Puerta del Sol. The street has many bars that can be quite noisy, particularly in the evening, but when you shut the windows, you can hardly hear the noise at all. The street felt safe and we didn't have any concerns about walking around the area. The apartment has two single beds in the bedroom plus a futon-type couch in the living room. There is a flat screen TV with about a dozen channels. The kitchen has the basics, but could benefit from additional items (see below). There is a clothes washer/dryer combo unit in the kitchen, which we used several times. There aren't any directions in English or Spanish, but we were able to figure it out. Note: the dryer setting has the three wavy lines. Select the wash cycle you want, and if you also want dry, select the button with the three wavy lines, and keep pushing it to increase the drying time. The bathroom has the standard sink, toilent, and tub with shower. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure.

We absolutely loved the apartment. My husband and I stayed there with our two year old son. It is in the PERFECT location on a pedestrian street. It is a noisy neighborhood but the apartment was soundproof. It was pretty modern and had a seperate room for the kitchen which was great (with a washing machine). Alvaro was helpful and accomodating and I would highly recommend it...

The apartment was very clean, spacious and modern. It was in a perfect location on a pedestrian street lined with bars and restaurants. It was a perfect location in central Madrid. I would reccomend this apartment to others in the future.

El mejor punto a destacar es su ubicación, a sólo pasos de la Puerta del Sol. Ubicado en una calle peatonal, pero fácilmente alejado del bullicio al cerrar las ventanas dobles. Muy buen precio y excelente trato recibido por la persona encargada de la entrega del apartamento. La limpieza se puede mejorar. Se nota que ha sido renovado recientemente y está muy bien decorado. Ideal para vivirse Madrid desde el corazón de la ciudad, para caminar o para moverse en metro. De seguro repetiríamos!

Great location, good accomodation. It would benefit from a kettle as difficult to use hob so close to microwave. Wifi access good as long as cleaners do not inadvertenatly turn it off.

Superb location in the center of Madrid. Clean and good apartment. Convenient for two but probably small if you are more. The only complaint is that the household utensils are very limited, e.g. only one pan and one size of very large plates and glasses. The apartment is located in a pedestrian street, i.e. no traffic noise but with a lot of loud restaurants. When we closed the windows this was not a problem since we had the apartment on the third floor, but the same company has apartments on the first floor. Be careful what you rent if you are sensitive to noise.

The apartment is in a great location for walking to all of the sites in downtown Madrid. It is located on a pedestrian street lined with nice little cafes -- very loud and energizing outside, however, once we closed the windows and shutters we could not hear any of the noise inside the apartment. Very smooth transaction, I recommend this apartment.
